Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Cromwell Media recently conducted an interview with Homer “Chip” Markel (D), candidate for the newly formed 12th District for US representative in Illinois. He is looking to unseat Mike Bost (R), who is the incumbent.
Question 1: I see you have been in the Navy. What experiences from the Navy do you believe will help you if you get elected?
Question 2: I saw that you have experience as a correctional officer as well. Do you have any thoughts on the ongoing political battle over the Prison Review Board?
Question 3: What are some issues that can be agreed on by both sides and be fully bipartisan?
Question 4: Thoughts on inflation?
Question 5: Any thoughts on how to help with the labor shortage?
Question 6: Since we’re on the topic already, what are your thoughts on the COVID vaccine?
Question 7: What message do you want to leave for voters to convince them you are the best candidate for the job?
We thank Mr. Markel for his time discussing multiple issues affecting Illinoisans. We look forward to more interviews with him and other candidates running for office as the primary season heats up.
