Altamont less than 24 hours after their victory in conference play, took part in the “showcase” of the NTC-CIC Shootout and the Indians “showcased” their and the NTC’s talent.
In a back and fourth affair in the early going, as you would except with both teams with 22-5 records. It was a balanced scoring effort from the Hawks of Meridian with both Riley Day and Graham Meisenhelter scoring 5 apiece. While Altamont was lead by Eric Kollmann with 6. It would be Altamont who would have the 15-14 lead after one.
The second quarter was more of the same as the opening frame back and fourth trading the lead. This time it would be Meridian who would get the 27-24 lead at the half. Then the third quarter changed everything.
Meridian would actually come out strong out of the locker but the ol analogy, its not how you start its how finish. Altamont would pour it on getting big bucket after big bucket on the offensive end. All the offensive action cause by the defense on the other end. Mason Robinson would score 10 in the quarter and Will Schultz would make a couple of three pointers. The Indians would outscore the Hawks 23-9 in the quarter and take the lead by 11 47-34 after three.
Altamont would clamp down on defense to prevent any comeback and would go on to take down the 4th ranked team in Class 1A by 19..19 points.
In the game before Altamont’s, Windsor / Stew-Stras was victorious 54-43 over another top CIC team Tuscola.

Altamont improves to 23-5 on the season and sets up a huge week next week for a share of the conference title. Indians travel to the Enlow Center to take on St. Anthony on Tuesday.
