On Tuesday night the Warriors of Casey came to town and Casey would come away with the narrow one point win in a heck of a high school basketball game.
The game started out back and fourth on the scoreboard. Despite Casey’s cold shooting 3-12 from the field, Altamont would be slightly better 2-8 but it was Casey who had the 7-6 lead after one.
Each team would score 11 in the second quarter so Casey would maintain the one point lead at the half 18-17.
Casey would wake up from beyond the arc after going 1-10 in the first half the Warriors would go 3-6 from beyond the arc in the third. With Jackson Parcel hitting a pair of threes and scoring 11 in the third quarter alone. Casey would extend their lead to be little more comfortable 34-28
But it would be Altamont who woke up in the final quarter. With the lead getting pushed to almost double digits Noah Klimpel the senior, who was kept quiet all night would go on a 7-0 personal run to get the game within one possession. Avery Jahraus also came up big in the quarter as well, knocking down a pair of clutch threes and score 7 in the quarter. After Jahraus went 1-2 at the free throw line and Altamont having the 48-46 lead, it was Parcel who would come up in the clutch. Parcel grabbed the rebound, run the other way and on the run would nail the game winning three pointer to give Casey the one point win 49-48.
Altamont falls to 6-3 on the season. Indians are back in action with one more game before the holidays on Thursday against Hillsboro.
Casey improves to 4-6 on the season.
