Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The following information comes directly from the Effingham County Health Department (ECHD):
ECHD received notice today of 5 new positive COVID-19 cases in Effingham County. Two males in their 50’s and one female in her 60’s have had no known contact with a COVID case. A female and male in their 80’s have had contact with a COVID case, and all 5 are doing well in isolation.
Citizens are strongly urged to take steps to minimize the risk of contaracting COVID-19 by wearing a face covering, washing hands frequently, maintainging 6 foot distances where possible, and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
Remember, persons may not always exhibit symptoms, and disease spread can be reduced by having early diagnosis and practicing isolation. For more information on how to obtain testing, contact ECHD at 217-342-9237.
