Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- From the Mattoon Police Department:
Mattoon Police arrested Jesse C. Schwerdt, 40 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine.
The arrest occurred on 5/29/2020 at 10:57am in the 1300 block of Moultrie Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 5/29/2020 while in the 1300 block of Moultrie Ave, police stopped Mr. Schwerdt for a traffic violation, at which time he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Mr. Schwerdt was taken to the Coles County Jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Kelly A. Dalton, 48 years of age of Charleston, IL, for the offense of Theft.
The arrest occurred on 5/30/2020 at 7:37pm at Walmart located at 101 Dettro Drive in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 5/30/2020 while at Walmart in Mattoon, Ms. Dalton stole items from the store. Ms. Dalton posted bond and was released.

Mattoon Police arrested Larry S. Kirkland, 38 years of age of Nashville, TN, for the offense of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
The arrest occurred on 6/1/2020 at 1:10am in the 300 block of Broadway Ave East in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 6/1/2020, police located a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Suite Dreams Hotel in Mattoon, and observed a male sleeping within. The registration of the vehicle was ran, and officers were alerted the vehicle had been stolen out of Nashville, TN. Mr. Kirkland was arrested and taken to the Coles County Jail.
