Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- From the Mattoon Police Department:
Mattoon Police arrested Pamela R. Mayer, 45 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
The arrest occurred on 4/30/2020 at 10:29pm in the 1100 block of Champaign Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 4/30/20 while in the 1100 block of Champaign Ave, Ms. Mayer fired several rounds from a handgun in her backyard while shooting at cans. The rounds fired went through a piece of wood meant to stop them, and into a detached garage in the alleyway. Ms. Mayer was taken to the Coles County Jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Kamryn J. Schmitt, 24 years of age of Sumner, IL, as well as Calin D. Garrett, 28 years of age of Charleston, IL, both for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The arrest occurred on 5/1/2020 at 4:11am, when both were arrested in the 1200 block of Charleston Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Charleston Ave regarding a possible overdose of a passed out female being dragged away by two male subjects. Upon arrival, police identified the males as Mr. Schmitt and Mr. Garrett, and found both to be in possession of Heroin. Both Mr. Schmitt and Mr. Garrett were taken to the Coles County Jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Anthony A. Vaultonburg, 31 years of age of Mattoon, as well as Kasandra L. Vaultonburg, 25 years of age of Mattoon, both for the offense of Retail Theft.
The arrest occurred on 5/1/2020 at 10:27am when both were arrested at Walmart located at 101 Dettro Drive in Mattoon. The charge alleges both subjects entered Walmart on 5/1/2020, and stole items from within. Both subjects were issued a court date and were released.

Mattoon Police arrested Leonard C. Stafford Jr., 44 years of age of Mattoon, for the offenses of Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting / Obstructing a Police Officer, and Threatening a Public Official.
The arrest occurred on 5/2/2020 at 6:35pm in the 1500 block of S. 2nd Street in Mattoon. The charges allege that on 5/2/2020 while in the 1500 block of S. 2nd Street, and during a neighborhood dispute, Mr. Stafford punched and broke an exterior window of a residence. The charges further allege Mr. Stafford resisted officers during his arrest, and that he made numerous threats towards the officer. Mr. Stafford was taken to the Coles County Jail.
