Washington, DC -(Effingham Radio)- The FDA is warning Americans they should not take two anti-malaria drugs that President Trump has promoted without a doctor’s OK because of risk of severe heart problems. Today’s warning came after numerous COVID-19 patients taking hydroxychloroquine [[ HIGH-drox-ee-klor-eh-quin ]] and chloroquine suffered serious cardiac events.
The agency said they can cause abnormal heart rhythms and should only be used in hospitals or clinical trials. Trump has been touting the drugs for weeks.
