
Altamont, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The April 13, 2020 Altamont Unit #10 Board of Education meeting will be held as scheduled at 7pm. The board meeting process will be altered in accordance with Governor Pritzker‘s Executive Orders 2020–07 and 2020–10. Steps taken will include:
Board members may attend the meeting either in person or by electronic/phone communication (per Executive Order 2020–07). Mrs. Grimsley has assigned computers equipped with video capability to each board member. Please stop by the unit office anytime to get your computer should you wish to participate from home (you may certainly use your own device). You will be sent a link to Google Meet. Per Executive Order 2020–10 there will be no more than ten (10) individuals (including board members and staff) allowed in the board meeting room. Please inform the unit office in advance of the meeting by phone at: 618–483–6195 if you are a member of the public who wishes to attend. You may “live stream” the board meeting from home by following the instructions on the district‘s website. On the website, click the public information tab titled 4/13/20 Remote School Board Meeting. Follow the instructions to live stream the board meeting.
The District understands the hesitancy of many to attend a public meeting in the present environment. Individuals who do not wish to attend the meeting due to COVID–19 concerns will also have the ability to participate during the public comment portion of the meeting by emailing your public comments to smayerho@altamontschools.org by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2020. An administrator in attendance at the meeting will read your comments to the board members attending in person or electronically. You may also access the meeting via a Google Meet link that can be found on the district‘s website.
