Phoenix, AZ -(Effingham Radio)- Coronavirus fears have claimed the life an Arizona man after he tried to prevent getting COVID-19 by drinking fish tank cleaner with chloroquine phosphate. His wife, who also took some, says they got the idea from President Trump, who recommended the compound during a briefing. She now says don’t take medical advice from the president.
Some early research suggests chloroquine, which is commonly used to treat malaria could treat the coronavirus. The couple tried to get emergency care within 30 minutes after consuming the fish tank cleaner, but it was too late for the husband who died while his wife is being treated.
