Dixon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The husband of a murdered DCFS worker is speaking out about his wife’s death.
Don Knight says DCFS has trouble knowing when its workers need extra assistance on a case, and that affects worker safety.
His wife Pamela Knight was in process of taking a two-year-old into protective custody in 2017 when she was beaten so badly she died five months later from her injuries.
Andrew Sucher took a plea deal last week and will spend 21 years in prison for the murder.
Don Knight tried to introduce a bill meant to help keep public workers safer on the job, but it stalled in the Legislature this year.
