FLORA, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Rotarians from across southern Illinois gathered for the Foundation and Membership Seminar sponsored by Rotary District 6510 on July 28th at the Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
In attendance, Joel Hackney, Rotary Club of Flora President and Norman Phillips, Rotary Club of Flora President elect were introduced to many new ideas as well as plans for the upcoming Rotary year.
Current District 6510 Governor Janice Alka applied Rotary’s theme of “Be the Inspiration” to this event.
Guest speaker Past District Governor Carl Chinnery discussed using the Rotary Foundation to strengthen Membership as well as The Importance of Eradicating Polio.
District Membership/Retention coordinator Mary Harvey focused on tips regarding how to grow and keep members while District Foundation Director Lanny Lenker talked about Rotary Foundation donations as well as the fight against Polio.
Lanny also awarded the clubs that applied for Grant Projects this year their checks from the District.
District 6510 has awarded almost $50,000.00 to clubs this year in Southern Illinois.
