EFFINGHAM, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Last Friday a barn caught fire just outside of Effingham, and First Responders were on scene at approximately 2pm.
Upon arrival they found the barn was on fire in the interior, however the barn itself was engulfed in smoke.
Effinghamd FD arrived first on scene, with Watson, and Shumway Fire Departments following soon after.
While they attempted to extinguish the fire they received assistance from the owner.
The owner declined to comment on the situation.

The total amount of damage, as well as cause was undetermined as there was still an ongoing investigation.
