* At 623 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles southwest
of Shattuc, or 7 miles west of Centralia, moving northeast at 55
mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Wamac, Centralia, Central City, Junction City, Sandoval, Walnut
Hill, Fairman, Odin, Patoka, Kell, Vernon, Tonti, Salem, Alma,
Iuka, Helm, Kinmundy, Omega, Stephen Forbes Station and Farina.
This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 109 and 127.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for a portion of
south central Illinois.
