Effingham authorities have confirmed that both individuals involved in a stolen vehicle incident earlier today are now in custody and the area is secure.
The situation developed around 12:40 P.M., when police responded to a traffic accident at Keller Drive and Marguerite Lane. After the crash, two young males fled the scene on foot, prompting an immediate search and increased patrols, particularly near the Lakewood Manor Trailer Park. Law enforcement requests that anyone with information or security footage from the area contact dispatch at 217-347-0774.
