
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- There were a few confirmed tornadoes from Thursday’s storms (February 19th).
Edgewood Area Tornado:

- Track Length: 3.0 miles
- Max Width: 25 yards
- Injuries/Deaths: 0/0
- Summary: The tornado touched down just south of the Clay and Effingham county line, near the Edgewood Rd. curve. Damage was limited to tree branches.
Wheeler Area Tornado:
- Time: 3:42 – 3:44 PM
- EF Scale: EF0
- Est. Peak Winds: 70 mph
- Track Length: 1.5 miles
- Max Width: 30 yards
- Injuries/Deaths: 0/0
- Summary: Storm chaser video confirmation from two chasers of the tornado touching down about 1 mile southeast of Wheeler. The tornado caused minor damage to trees as it travelled northeast across Highway 33 before dissipating just east of N 500th St.
Hardinville/Flat Rock Tornado:

- Summary: The tornado touched down about 3 miles southeast of Hardinville where it damaged several trees near the intersection of E 350th Ave and N 825th St. The tornado traveled northeast doing tree damage until it reached N 1000th St. The it intensified to EF-1 intensity as it severely damaged two homes, one mobile home was thrown off its foundation and wrapped around a tree injuring an elderly woman who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The tornado progressed northeast crossing several tree lines and also damaging additional homes and farm buildings along 1125th St and along E 465th Ave. The remainder of the damage was minor to a few trees before it dissipated about 2 miles northwest of Flat Rock.

- Summary: Much of the damage was concentrated at a farmstead along the Clay/Effingham county line east of 1800th St. Metal from the top of a silo was blown off, and a barn was damaged with roof pieces blown northeast for about a half mile. Tracks through corn stubble in fields was found until reaching E. 200th Ave. west of county road 2200.
