Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- J&J Gaming Charity is proud to announce the opening of the 9th annual, Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship for the 2026-2027 school year. Started in 2018, Jim & Kay Jansen and Family started the Scholarship fund to award 100% of tuition and fees for four years of education at St. Anthony High School. The Scholarship has been awarded to six incoming freshmen, per year, who have not previously attended St. Anthony Grade School. To date, the Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship has supported over 60 students in pursuing education excellence at St. Anthony High School.
The Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship promotes the core values, culture, and curriculum of St. Anthony High School throughout the local community. Made possible by the generosity of Kay Jansen, Jack & Jenny Jansen, Robert & Kelly Willenborg, the Scholarship aims to serve South-Central Illinois students by welcoming those who reflect the mission, vision, and values of the St. Anthony school system.
To qualify for the Jim & Kay Jansen Scholarship, students are required to transfer into St. Anthony High School, not having been previously enrolled at St. Anthony Grade School. The number of scholarships awarded to each grade school or junior high school will not exceed two students.
“The Jansen family has long believed in giving back to our valued community,” said J&J Gaming CEO Bob Willenborg. “Their grandchildren were fortunate enough to benefit from the education and experience at St. Anthony High School, and they hope to help future students access the same opportunities and ease the financial burden.”
