Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- More snow is expected today, and we may get up to 5 inches in the Effingham area.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect this afternoon through tonight. Areas within the advisory can expect 2-5 inches of snow with some locally higher amounts possible. Snow will overspread central Illinois from the west through the afternoon and taper off by early Friday morning.
Use caution if traveling and allow extra time to reach your destination. You can always check IDOT’s traveler map at gettingaroundillinois.com for up-to-date road conditions.
Temps will drop below zero across much of central Illinois both Saturday night and Sunday night with resulting wind chill values as cold as 15 to 30 below.
