Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On Wednesday June 11, 2025 at approximately 10:00 am, the Effingham City Police were advised of an unresponsive male at the Flying J Truck Stop in Effingham, Illinois. Upon arrival the officers spoke to the driver of the semi who indicated the male was sleeping in the trailer of the semi. He went to wake him up but he did not respond. The Coroner’s Office was notified and pronounced the individual deceased at 10:26 am.
The male is believed to be approximately 60-65 years old and possibly from Honduras. The Coroner’s Office along with an interpreter has been attempting to contact the immediate family on Wednesday but were unsuccessful at this time.
Numerous calls were made to Honduras today but no immediate family members have responded at the time of this press release.
