Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- Officials are issuing a public health alert for organic ground beef products.
According to the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the products could reportedly be contaminated with E. coli, and it applies to some Organic Rancher products distributed to Whole Foods Market locations nationwide.
While there was no recall request or reports of illnesses, food safety officials are worried that consumers could still have some of the ground beef in their refrigerators or freezers. Officials advise that the affected meat, which has the use-by or freeze-by dates of June 19th and June 20th of this year on the packaging, should not be consumed.
