Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Amazon is rolling out its electric delivery vans.
In partnership with Rivian Automotive, the e-commerce giant bought 100-thousand electric vehicles as part of a plan to get to net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. Amazon began with a version of the van back in 2020 and tested them last year, but now the company says it’ll use the Rivian vans to make deliveries in several cities. They include Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, San Diego and Seattle, among others.
Amazon says it expects to have “thousands” of EVs in more than 100 cities by the end of this year.
