Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Teutopolis Board of Education met on Monday, July 18th.
The Board took the following actions:
- The Board recognized the guests and public comment of: 1) new TEA leadership of Co-Presidents Wendy Kreke, Jeannie Gaddis, and Darlene Unkraut; 2) new Band and Fine Arts Boosters leadership of President Kristi Esker and members Michele Beckman and Bridget Probst, who spoke on the possibility of purchasing new Band uniforms and requested future consideration for Board supported project collaboration.
- The June 2022 Financial Report was approved.
- The Board approved the annual TGS rent payment to St. Francis Parish.
- The Board approved a contractor payment for THS tuckpointing work, plus two change orders.
- The Board approved the minutes from the June 20, 2022 regular board meeting.
- The Board approved the second reading of policy changes from Update 109 recommended by the Illinois Association of School Boards.
- The Board agreed to re-establish the Unit Office Revolving Fund for 2022-23.
- The Board authorized the reestablishment of the Athletic Officials Fund at THS and TJHS for 2022- 23.
- The Board approved the purchase of technology equipment.
- The Board approved Teutopolis State Bank and Dieterich Bank/Teutopolis Branch as depositories for the 2022-23 school year.
- The Board approved the expenditure of funds until the annual budget of the district is adopted. 12. Reports included the discussion of: building updates from Principals and Athletic Directors, student registration – opens online July 25-29, district strategic goal setting, district athletic facilities and programs
- The Board approved the following resignations: Bob Schumacher as THS Softball Asst Coach, Cassidy Lowry as Title Reading Teacher, Jeanette Runde as THS Cook, Dave Burrell as Full-Time Bus Driver, Dan Herrera as THS English Teacher
- The Board approved a leave-of-absence request from Justin Fleener as THS Baseball Coach for one year (2022-23).
- The Board hired the following for the 2022-23 school year–contingent upon candidates successfully meeting all employment requirements: Chelsea Gruel as THS Cross Country Head Coach (Asst to Head), Jordan Thoele as THS Head Baseball Coach (F/S to Head for 22-23 only), Rob Bothwell as THS Fall Baseball Assistant Coach (Fall Asst. 2022-23 only), Kelly Swingler as THS Cook (6 hours per day), Kenny Cornell as TJHS Baseball Asst Coach, Tony Martin as TJHS Baseball Coach
- The Board approved to keep closed the verbatim records from executive session and destroy those older than 18 months as allowable under Illinois School Code 120/2.06.
