Clay County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12:
WHAT:
- Two Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries
WHERE:
- Camelia Road northbound, just north of Granger Boulevard, Flora, Clay County
WHEN:
- May 20, 2022 at 1:29 p.m.
VEHICLES:
- Unit 1 – Silver 2017 Jeep Renegade
- Unit 2 – Green 2013 Chevrolet Impala
DRIVERS:
- Unit 1 – Alexander L. Larch, a 19-year-old male from Rinard, IL – Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
- Unit 2 – L.E. Tolliver, an 86-year-old male from Clay City, IL – Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY:
- Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 2 was traveling northbound on Camelia Road, near Granger Boulevard. Unit 1 was directly behind Unit 2. Unit 2 slowed in traffic to attempt a left turn onto a private property. At the same time, Unit 1 attempted to pass Unit 2 in the southbound lane. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 in the driver side door and left the roadway to the left where it overturned. Both drivers were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
