High School Girls Basketball
Effingham moved to 5-0 on the season by taking down 55-39. Scoring for Effingham Fearday led the way with 17 points, Weis 12,Carie 11, Fox 8, Schafer 5 and Busher had 2. Scoring for Mattoon Ramage had 21 points, McDowell 9, Bryant 4, Sanders 3 and Sapp had 2.

Scoring for Casey Riggleman had 14 points, Richardson 5, Hall 5, Squires 2, Mason 2 and Jones 1. Altamont won the JV contest 45-7. Altamont improves to 7-1 on the season.

Mattoon took both games against Effingham. In the freshman contest Mattoon won 47-31 Leading the way for Mattoon was Arndt with 16 and leading the way for Effingham Pals had 12. And in the sophomore contest Mattoon won 58-45. Leading the way for Mattoon was Thomas with 21 and leading for Effingham Lee with 13.

Altamont and CHBC split a pair of games. In the 7th grade contest CHBC won 46-18 Leading the way for CHBC Wokcik had 17 points and leading the way for Altamont Fenton, Pospischel 4 and Kollmann all had 4 points. Altamont won the 8th grade contest 52-33. Leading the way for Altamont Rippetoe had 19 points and leading the way for CHBC Theis had 14 points.
