EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- One person was injured in an accident that occurred near the National Trail Rest Area on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-70 eastbound at milepost 87 at 1:13pm.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 66 year old, Arba Dorsey, of Pueblo, Colorado was traveling eastbound in the left lane.
At the same time, a semi driven by 23 year old, Dan Goran, of Orlando, Florida in the right lane.
Dorsey changed lanes into the right lane and slowed down rapidly.
The Goran vehicle struck the rear of the Dorsey vehicle.
The Dorsey vehicle then exited the roadway to the right and struck a tree.
The Goran vehicle crossed the median and stopped partially in the westbound lanes.
Dorsey was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis by helicopter and was cited for improper lane usage.
