Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The Illinois Pharmacists Association says low Medicaid reimbursements from the state are putting pharmacies out of business.
Eleven Illinois pharmacies have closed since April, when the state launched a new system through which pharmacists have to apply for Medicaid reimbursements.
One pharmacist told reporters with WICS that in some cases, Medicaid is paying pharmacies less than a dollar for some prescriptions.
The state legislature is expected to discuss the issue this month.
