High School Volleyball
Several area teams captured regional championships
- Effingham defeated Mattoon 25-23 27-25 to capture the 3A Effingham Regional Championship Leading the way for the Hearts Carsyn Fearday had 26 assists, Klyah Kuhlman had 10 kills and Miranda Fox had 12 digs. Effingham now 20-17 on the season, advance to sectional play to face off against Mt.Zion at Springfield Sacred Heart Griffith at 5:30.
- Altamont defeated St. Anthony 25-21 25-14 to capture the 1A Dieterich Regional Championship. Leading the way for the Indians McManaway had 7 kills and 12 assists and Pemberton had 16 digs. For St. Anthony Abby Stock had 13 assists and Sydney Gibson had 8 kills. Altamont advances to the St. Anthony Sectional Monday to face Decatur St. Teresa at 5:30 p.m.
- Windsor/Stew-Stras defeated Okaw Valley 25-13 25-13 to capture the 1A Hutsonville Regional. Leading the way for W/SS Megan Schlechte had 11 kills, Hannah Hayes had 19 assists and Carson Cole had 8 digs. Windsor/Stew-Stras now advances to the St. Anthony sectional on Monday to take on North Clay at 6:30
- Speaking of North Clay they won their own regional championship as the Cardinals defeated Cisne 25-18 25-15
- Teutopolis claimed their first-ever volleyball regional championship by defeating Tri-County 25-21 25-16 at the Class 2A Marshall Regional
Junior High Girls Basketball
- St. Anthony and Nokomis split a pair of games. In the 7th Grade contest St. Anthony won 36-14. Scoring for St. A Geen had 10, H.Niebrugge 9, Coffin 6, Niemeyer 6, M Kibler 3 and G. Niebrugge 2.

In the 8th Grade contest Nokomis won 34-17. Scoring for St. A Fearday had 4, Schwing 4, Faber 4, Ashton 3 and Willenborg had 2.

Action continued at the 8th Grade NTC tournament. Sigel St. Michael defeated Neoga 35-23 in consolation bracket action. Scoring for St. Michael Niebrugge had 18, Hatton 6, Worman 4, Hotze 4, Bueker 2 and Hakman had 1. Scoring for Neoga Richards had 13, Johnson 4, O’Dell 3, Kenworthy 2 and Campbell 1.

CHBC defeated Altamont 43-33 to advance to the championship game. Scoring for CHBC Heckert had 16, Wojcik 13, Gour 6, Bunch, Stuckemeyer, Morrison and Short all had 2 points. Scoring for Neoga Nelson had 12, Tedrick 10, Becker 5, Osteen 4 and Miller had 2.
