ST ELMO, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Four people were injured in an accident that occurred in St Elmo on Monday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 5:35pm on 6th Place Road, approximately 1/4 mile west of Ash Street.
The report states that a vehicle driven by a 17 year old male from Vandalia was backing out of a driveway onto 6th Place Road.
At that time, a vehicle driven by 20 year old, Jenna R Long, of St Elmo was traveling eastbound and struck the juveniles vehicle on the rear-passenger side.
A 16 year old female passenger in the juvenile’s vehicle was flown to St Johns Hospital by Air Evac.
The juvenile driver and a 17 year old male passenger were taken to Fayette County Hospital by ambulance.
Long was also transported by ambulance to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.
The juvenile driver was cited for no valid driver’s license, failure to yield from private road or drive, and failure to secure a child in a child restraint system.
