CUMBERLAND COUNTY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- One person was injured in an accident that occurred in Cumberland County on Saturday morning.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-70 westbound at milepost 110 at 9:45am.
The report states that a semi driven by 52 year old, David Hambrick, of Zanesville, Ohio was traveling westbound on I-70.
At the same time, a vehicle driven by 29 year old, Joshua Gaudet, of Dover, New Hampshire was traveling westbound on I-70.
The Gaudet vehicle began passing the Hambrick vehicle in the left lane, when the Hambrick vehicle crossed the center line and struck the passenger side of the Gaudet vehicle.
Gaudet lost control and veered into the treeline on the north side of the roadway.
Gaudet was taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Hambrick was cited for improper lane usage.
