MARTINSVILLE, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A Casey resident was injured in an accident that occurred 3 miles east of Martinsville on Tuesday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 5:16pm on US 40 at the intersection with CR 1000E.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 29 year old, Justa Naomi Shinn, of Casey was traveling westbound on Route 40.
A witness at the same location stated to authorities that they witnessed the Shinn vehicle cross the center line before over-correcting to the right, leaving the roadway.
The Shinn vehicle then entered the north side ditch, rolled multiple times, and came to a rest on its wheels facing east.
Shinn was ejected from the vehicle and was taken to Carle Hospital by helicopter for treatment.
Shinn was cited for no valid driver’s license, improper lane usage, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
