Larry was born on August 21, 1944, in Mattoon, IL, the son of Delbert and Juanita (Swisher) Cline. He was united in marriage to Mary White on September 17, 1968.
Larry served in the Illinois National Guard. He worked in printing at World Color Press and later Kingery Printing Company. When he “retired” he started working at the Post Office, first in Watson and then in Mason. He also volunteered as a chaplain for Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center and served as Village Clerk for the Watson Village Board.
Larry accepted Jesus as his Saviour on a Thursday morning in the Pastor’s Study at Watson Baptist Church. This started a life-long passion for God’s Word. In 1993, Larry was blessed to become the pastor of Iola Missionary Baptist Church where he ministered for 25 years.
Larry’s support of veterans led him to become a part of the Patriot Guard Riders. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and vacationing with them in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park every year, sometimes twice a year.
Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Cline of Watson; children, Aaron Cline of Watson, and Angela Long of Watson; son-in-law, Gerry Long of Farina; grandchildren, Brittny Long of Effingham and Seth Long of Watson; and sisters, Janet Maulding and Joni Binnion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Linda Binnion and Ethel Smith; and brothers, Maurice Binnion, Don Binnion, and Howard Binnion.
