BROWNSTOWN, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A Vandalia man was injured in an accident that occurred in Brownstown on Thursday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 9:20am on US 40, just south of the I-70 Brownstown Exit.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 23 year old, Colton J Hagy, of Vandalia was traveling westbound on US Route 40 when he fell asleep.
The vehicle left the roadway to the left, traveled down an embankment, and overturned onto the driver’s side.
Hagy was flown by Arch to Barnes Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Hagy was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating a vehicle without insurance, and possession of under 10 grams of cannabis.
