CENTRAL CITY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- One person was injured in an accident that occurred on the north edge of Central City on Saturday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 9:50pm on US 51.
The report states that a motorcycle driven by 54 year old, David R Hesse, of Irvington was traveling southbound on US 51, entering Central City, in an area where US 51 divides into southbound North Commerical and northbound North Broadway.
Hesse struck the dividing median barrier, laid the motorcycle onto its side, and slid, coming to a rest on the sidewalk.
Hesse sustained injuries after being ejected and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
He was cited for improper lane usage and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
