Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Governor Bruce Rauner says he wants to eliminate the wage gap in Illinois, but not with the latest plan that lawmakers sent him.
The governor on Friday vetoed a proposed law that would have banned employers from asking workers what they made at their last job.
The governor says the plan he scuttled didn’t take the interests of businesses into account.
Supporters of the idea are planning a news conference later this morning to push back.
