CUMBERLAND COUNTY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Two people were injured in an accident that occurred in Cumberland County on Friday morning.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-70 eastbound at milepost 126 at 8:37am.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 65 year old, James W Pyant, of Florissant, Missouri was traveling eastbound on I-70 near milepost 126.
Pyant reported to authorities that an unknown semi tractor-trailer entered the right lane that Pyant was occupying.
The semi tractor-trailer struck Pyant’s vehicle, causing a rollover crash.
The semi did not stop and left the scene of the crash.
Pyant and his passenger, 36 year old, Jonathan R Cook, of Hazelwood, Missouri sustained injuries and were taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
Charges are pending an investigation.
