- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy cited 48 year old, Elliot Atherton, of Noble, IL, for Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Operating with Expired Registration. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.
September 12, 2018
- The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 7:25 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 45 and Cheetah Lane. Apparently a 17 year old female operating a 2004 Chevrolet, was travelling north on U.S. Route 45, slowing to stop, when she was struck by a 2005 Buick van operated by 33 year old, Charlie E. Newman, of Sailor Springs, IL. Minor injuries reported. Newman was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

- 25 year old, Wade A. Webster, of Edgewood, IL, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Residential Burglary. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10%), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

- 27 year old, Kendra D. Lemond, of Fairfield, IL, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10%), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy cited 35 year old, Stacy Byers, of Mason, IL, for Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Speeding. She was given a Notice to Appear and released.
September 17, 2018
- The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 7:25 a.m. south of the intersection of U.S. Route 45 and Nighthawk. Apparently 18 year old, Morgan J. Guinn, of Effingham, IL, operating a 2004 Jeep Liberty was travelling north on U.S. Route 45, lost control of the vehicle and entered a field. Guinn was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.

- Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested 24 year old, Cyndi Willhoite, of Salem, IL, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Speeding. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10%), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.
