Mattoon, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The following is the Mattoon Police Report:
September 4, 2018
- Mattoon Police arrested Carli S. Evrard, 40 years of age of Mattoon, for the offenses of Obstructing Identification and Possession of Methamphetamine. The arrest occurred on 09/04/2018 at 8:28am in the 900 block of Charleston Ave East in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 09/04/2018, police were called to the area of the 900 block of Charleston Ave East, due to a female in the roadway, who had just previously been reported to have been panhandling for money in the area. Upon police arrival, the female provided a false name for herself, and upon police positively identifying her as Ms. Evrard, she was found to be on parole. Ms. Evrard was also found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Ms. Evrard was taken to the Coles County Jail.
September 9, 2018
- Mattoon Police arrested Mason R. Hunnicutt, 22 years of age of Pana, IL, for the offenses of Theft and Disorderly Conduct, as well as Amber N. Spracklen, 28 years of age of Pana, IL, for the offense of Possession of Stolen Property. Both were arrested on 09/09/2018 at Mattoon PD, Ms. Spracklen at 7:45am, and Mr. Hunnicutt at 8:07am. The charges allege that on 09/08/2018 while in the 2200 block of Marion Ave in Mattoon, Mr. Hunnicutt and Ms. Spracklen approached a residence in the area, at which time Mr. Hunnicutt entered upon the porch on the residence, left a deceased animal carcass on the porch, and stole a package from the mailbox. The charges also allege after leaving the property, Mr. Hunnicutt gave the stolen package to Ms. Spracklen, at which time she opened it. Both Mr. Hunnicutt and Ms. Spracklen were issued a court date and were released.
- Mattoon Police arrested Lee A. Hearns, 28 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Aggravated Assault. The arrest occurred on 09/09/2018 at 8:19pm in the 1800 block of S. 9th Street in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 09/09/2018, police were called to the 1800 block of S. 9th Street regarding Mr. Hearns brandishing a knife, and threatening multiple residents of an apartment complex in that area. The charge also alleges Mr. Hearns followed a female resident of the apartment complex back to her apartment, threatening to use the knife on her. Upon police arrival, Mr. Hearns dropped the knife without incident, and was arrested. Mr. Hearns was taken to the Coles County Jail.
