SHELBY COUNTY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Three people were injured in an accident that occurred in Shelby County on Friday night.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on IL Route 16, approximately .4 miles east of Shelby County Rd 2550E, at 8:30pm.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 58 year old, Catharine Hale, of Shelbyville was traveling westbound on IL Route 16.
At the same time, a vehicle driven by 60 year old, Terry A Prasun, of Windsor was traveling eastbound on IL Route 16, followed by a vehicle driven by 53 year old, Scott R Pals, of Effingham.
The Hale vehicle then crossed the center line, entered the eastbound lane, struck the front driver’s side of the Prasun vehicle, and struck the front end of the Pals vehicle.
Hale was taken to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Pals and his passenger, 51 year old, Kelly Pals, of Effingham were also taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Hale was cited for improper lane usage.
