Champaign, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The city of Champaign is settling two lawsuits against its police department for nearly four million-dollars.
The Champaign News-Gazette reported yesterday that the city will pay Teshome Campbell three-and-a-half million-dollars to settle a wrongful conviction that sent him to prison for 17 years.
The other settlement, for more than 200-thousand-dollars, will end an excessive force lawsuit filed by Alton Corey after his arrest last year.
