Carbondale, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Southern Illinois University’s chancellor says he still expects a turnaround, despite another large drop in enrollment.
SIU’s main campus in Carbondale this week reported that enrollment for the fall is down almost 12 percent, to 12 thousand 817 students.
That’s compared to almost 25 thousand students in 1991.
But Chancellor Carlo Montemagno said the school is ‘on track,’ because applications for next fall are up.
