- Effingham won in 3 sets against Newton 25-18, 23-25, 27-25. Effingham also picked up wins in the JV 25-21, 25-17 and the Fresh/Soph contest 25-19, 25-15
- Carlyle defeated Altamont 25-18, 21-25, 25-21 Altamont drops their first game of the season to fall to 0-1 Altamont did win the JV contest 25-12, 25-17
