SHELBY COUNTY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Two people were injured in an accident that took place on Sunday in Shelby County.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on CR 268N at CR 1300E at 5:47pm.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 21 year old, Megan E Scarlett, of Cowden failed to give appropriate room on an unstriped road and struck an oncoming car driven by 39 year old, Jacob F Bennet, of Cowden.
A two year old passenger in Scarlett’s vehicle sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to St Louis.
Scarlett also sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
Scarlett was cited for not driving on the right side of the road.
