Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Farmers in a growing swath of western and west-central Illinois are waiting to see if this weekend’s rains were enough.
The National Weather Service and the USDA are tracking drought conditions in Illinois.
The last report from last week shows the drought spreading; forecasters say over a million people from just west of Springfield north to the Quad Cities, and down to Quincy are all too dry.
That could change after two days of soaking rains across the area yesterday and the day before.
