SALEM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Two people were injured in an accident that occurred two miles north of Salem on Tuesday morning.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-57 Southbound at milepost 118 at 9:35am.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 42 year old, Jessica M Reilly, of Manchester, TN was traveling southbound on I-57 when she fell asleep.
The vehicle then left the roadway to the left and Reilly overcorrected.
The vehicle then rolled several times, coming to a rest on its top in the right ditch.
Reilly’s passenger, a 15 year old male of Manchester, TN, was ejected from the vehicle but sustained only minor injuries.
Reilly and the passenger were taken to Salem Hospital for treatment.
Reilly was cited for driving while license is suspended, failure to secure a child in a safety belt, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
