OBLONG, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A Robinson man was injured in an accident that occurred one mile west of Oblong on Friday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 5:11pm on Route 33 near Crawford County Rd 100E.
The report states that a motorcycle driven by 58 year old, Randy A Cox, of Robinson was traveling eastbound on Route 33 when he approached the large curve in this area.
While negotiating the curve, Cox lost control of his motorcycle, overcorrecting, and started to skid off the south side of the roadway.
The motorcycle then began to flip end-over-end several times, coming to a rest in the ditch.
Cox was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest next to it.
He was flown to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana for treatment.
He was cited for improper lane usage.
UPDATE: 8:57PM JULY 23, 2018- According to an update from the Illinois State Police, Cox succumbed to his injuries on Saturday at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.
