Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Chamber Foundation of Effingham County recognized the recipients of the 2018 Chamber Foundation Community
Scholarships at the Annual Scholarship Sponsor and Recipient Luncheon on Friday, June 1 at the Keller Convention Center. The Foundation awarded twelve scholarships for both adults and graduating high school seniors.
Four Chamber members awarded Exclusive Scholarships. The recipients of the J & J Ventures Gaming LLC Exclusive Scholarships are Lee Hardiek from Teutopolis High School, will be attending Lincoln Land Community College to study Pre-Engineering; Claire Niebrugge of Effingham, attending Missouri State University to study Communications Studies, emphasis in marketing & mass media;Bailey Pals of Effingham, attending Southern Illinois University to pursue her Masters in Business Administration and Chanel Pals of Teutopolis, attending Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, to study Public Relations.
The HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital Exclusive Scholarship was awarded to Saidee Bushur of St. Anthony High School. Bushur will be attending Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville to pursue her degree as a Registered Nurse.
The recipient of the Siemer Milling Company Exclusive Scholarship is Abbey Meinhart of Effingham. Meinhart will be attending Lake Land College to pursue a degree in Special Education.
The recipient of the Dust & Son Auto Supplies Exclusive Scholarship is Nicholas Dust of Effingham. Dust attends Lake Land College to pursue a degree in Pre-Engineering.
Recipients of the Chamber Foundation Community Scholarships were Madalyn Tegeler of St. Anthony High School; Jeffery Stoldt of Beecher City High School and Lauren Hemmen of Teutopolis High School. Tegeler will be attending Quincy University to pursue her degree in Pre-Med. Stoldt will be attending Lake Land College to pursue his degree in Welding and Hemmen will be attending Indiana State Univerity pursuing a degree in Accounting. Adult scholarship recipients Christopher Jones of Effingham will be attending the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering and Vivian Kaldas of Effingham will be attending Lake Land College pursuing her degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
All 2018 sponsors of the Chamber Foundation Community Scholarship Program were recognized during the luncheon. In addition to the Exclusive Sponsors, special recognition was given to the Platinum Sponsors, which included BK Resources, Effingham New Car Dealers Association, John Boos & Co. and Koerner Distributor.
The Chamber Community Scholarship Program has awarded $198,000 to 161 area residents over the past 22 years. Scholarships are awarded to spouses, employees, and family members of Chamber member companies.
