EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Three people were injured in an accident that occurred west of Effingham on Saturday morning.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on I-70 eastbound two miles west of Effingham at 9:15am.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 38 year old, Juanita Obannon, of Bentonville, Arkansas was traveling eastbound on I-70 at milepost 90.
Obannon told authorities that she had fallen asleep and the vehicle left the south side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The vehicle then rolled over and came to a rest facing the west.
Obannon and her passengers, 39 year old, Furman Clark and 60 year old, Brenda Lee Waggoner both of Bentonville, Arkansas, were taken to HSHS St Anthony Memorial Hospital.
Obannon was cited for improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance, and driving while license is suspended.
Clark was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt and possession of drug paraphernalia.
