Karl was born on November 14, 1957, the son of Roger G. and Thelma M. (Holkenbrink) Pruemer of Teutopolis, IL. He graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1975 and Eastern Illinois University in Charleston in 1979. He was united in marriage to Cheryl A. Hall of West Frankfort, IL, on November 4, 1995.
Karl was born a farmer’s son and looked forward to putting on his bibs every planting season and heading out to the farm… always with hopes for some ‘’Manna from Heaven” come harvest. He sold real estate for 35 years and insurance for Home Farmer’s Mutual. He was a member of the Elk’s Club, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus, and the Central Illinois Board of Realtors. Karl was known for his sense of humor, and he didn’t know a stranger. His happiest times were spent on the dance floor with his daughter, Tessa, while “Johnny Be Good” was being performed by his son, Karson. No man has ever been more proud of his kids than Karl was!
Karl is survived by his wife, Cheryl Pruemer of Teutopolis; son, Karson Pruemer of Teutopolis; daughter, Tessa Pruemer of Teutopolis; siblings, Eugene (Libby) Pruemer of Teutopolis, Leo (Sherry) Pruemer of Teutopolis, Alice (Jerry) Goeckner of Effingham, Mark (Karen) Pruemer of Teutopolis, and Linda (Mike) Wrincik of Rochester; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sharon Boerngen. Karl always had a special place in his heart for all of his buddies and will be missed each and every day. He was our “hero.”
He was preceded in death by his parents.
