Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Illinois Senate will decide if carjackers in Chicago will face more jail time.
The House yesterday approved a plan to end what lawmakers call the “revolving door” in Cook County jail for people who steal cars.
The legislation is one of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s top priorities.
But a number of lawmakers in Springfield have taken a stand this year against increasing jail time for anyone.
The Senate will likely vote on the plan in the next few days.
