BEECHER CITY, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Illinois State Legislature has until the end of the day on Thursday to agree on a State Budget.
One State candidate is speaking out on how the state lawmakers should be focusing on budget issues.
We sat down last week with Candidate Blaine Wilhour (Representative 107th District).
According to Wilhour, he doesn’t think that the state can move forward without addressing these budget issues.
Wilhour spoke on how previously and now, the state legislature focused on other issues and were pushing bills through while waiting until the last minute to push a budget through.
According to Wilhour, this left almost no time to read or respond to the budget.
Wilhour says that if he were to get the seat in Springfield, he’d focus on tracking investment into Illinois and “right the financial ship” by focusing on controlling spending and promoting policies that grow the ecomony.
