SPRINGFIELD, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Thousands of Illinois state workers could be in line for a big payday.
The Illinois House yesterday overwhelmingly voted to send a plan to Governor Rauner to have him pay 24-thousand state employees 63-million-dollars in back pay.
Some of the money is owed from raises promised as far back as 2011.
The governor has said in the past that the state can’t afford to make the payments.
